Why a formal policy
Search engines call this category "Your Money or Your Life" (YMYL) content, and for good reason: a wrong number on a loan page can cost a reader real money. USARateHub covers personal loans, short-term credit, mortgages, insurance and savings - all products where the gap between a typical offer and a bad one is measured in hundreds or thousands of dollars. This policy sets out how we research, check and maintain that content, and what you can hold us to when we get something wrong.
Sourcing and fact-checking
- Figures are ranges or worked examples, never promises. APRs vary by lender, state and borrower. We publish typical published ranges and clearly labeled illustrative calculations. We do not publish a specific rate as if it were an offer.
- Regulatory claims are checked against the source. Statements about credit reporting, soft versus hard inquiries, state lending limits and disclosure rules are checked against regulator and bureau documentation before publication.
- No invented data. We do not fabricate statistics, testimonials, or lender names. If we cannot verify a number, it does not go on the page.
- Compliance words are banned. "Guaranteed approval," "no credit check loans" framed as risk-free, and similar phrases do not appear in our editorial content, because they are misleading and in many contexts unlawful.
Update cadence
| Content type | Review cadence | What triggers an off-cycle update |
|---|---|---|
| Rate tables and "best of" rankings | Monthly | A partner changes published rates, fees or availability |
| Loan guides (credit bands, amounts, alternatives) | Quarterly | Regulatory change, partner network change, or a reader-reported error |
| Policy and disclosure pages | Semi-annually | Any change in how the business operates |
Every page carries a visible "Updated" date. That date changes only when a human has actually re-reviewed the page - we do not bump dates to look fresh.
Separation of advertising and editorial
We earn referral fees from lending partners, as described on our About page and in the Advertising Disclosure. Partners do not review, approve or edit editorial copy before publication. Compensation can affect which products appear and in what order; it cannot change what we say about a product's costs, risks or fit.
Corrections
If you find an error - a stale rate range, a wrong claim about credit reporting, anything - email info@usaratehub.com with the page URL. Confirmed factual errors are corrected on the page, and material corrections are noted in the page's update line.
USARateHub is a loan-request and rate-comparison service, not a lender, and does not make credit decisions. APRs, fees and terms are set by each lender and vary by product, state and creditworthiness. Figures on this page are typical published ranges and illustrative examples, not offers or promises. Short-term credit is costly and not a long-term solution. Service is not available in every state. See the Lending Policy, Rates & Fees and Disclaimer.
